Material CK45-IH

These rods are used as piston rods for hydraulic cylinders in demanding work conditions where exists possibility that they can be mechanically damaged. They are made of standardized carbon steel. They are also used on pins and in some cases as a replacement for guide. Induction hardening is a form of heat treatment where the rod is inductively heated and then quickly cooled down. This treatment increases hardness of the surface of the rod, but also makes it more brittle. As a result, its abrasion resistance increases and the core of the rod remains tough. It is similar to 12 050 steel according to ČSN.

Parameters:
Tensile strength: 650-830 N/mm2
Yield strength: min 440 N/mm2
Chrome layer thickness min. 20 μm
Chrome layer hardness 66-67 HRC
Hardened layer hardness 55±2 HRC

Material 42CrMo4-IH

Chromed rods from 42CrMo4 material are used in demanding work conditions where exists possibility that they can be mechanically damaged. This material is used for highly mechanically stressed components. It has higher strength thanks to its carbon and chrome amount. These rods have high strength and toughness also at low temperatures, this variant also has surface hardened to 55 HRC. It is similar to 15 143 or 15 341 steel according to ČSN.

Parameters:
Tensile strength: 900-1200 N/mm2
Yield strength: min 650 N/mm2
Chrome layer thickness min 20 μm
Chrome layer hardness 66-67 HRC
Hardened layer hardness 55±2 HRC
